While a replacement hasn't been hired for Maguire, there's no shortage of actors that would like to swing into the role of Peter Parker — including "High School Musical" star Zac Efron.

When MTV News spoke with the actor on the red carpet of the Academy Awards on Sunday (March 7), Efron emphasized that he would love to star as Marvel's beloved superhero icon. "Are you kidding? It would be a dream come true," he said. "I think it would be an honor. I would tear it up."

The ladies attending the Oscars have gotten dress advice from all the fashion experts, and now "The City" boss Kelly Cutrone and her pal, fashion maven, Diane Pernet, are telling Oscar-presenting hotties Taylor Lautner and Zac Efron just what they should wear to the big show on Sunday.

"I think that they have to be themselves," Kelly told MTV News. "[Taylor] seems like he's not really sure who he is from a fashion perspective. To me he looks more like a bodyguard than a movie star. I'd like to see him in black on black, and maybe no tie, or maybe just a wild bowtie would be fun."

What about Zac? Well, it seems he's already got all the right moves! "I can only say nice things about Zac Efron," Kelly said, noting that her daughter, Ava, is a fan. "I think he looks great here [at last year's Oscars]. I wouldn’t even give him fashion advice.

ZAC Efron and Vanessa Hudgen’s aren’t planning a summer wedding — despite reports to the contrary. American tabloid the National Enquirer claimed the High School Musical stars are “looking toward a summer wedding in Malibu – with Zac picking up the tab for the entire affair!”

The mag also claimed that Efron’s parents think he’s “too young” to wed Hudgens. But a source close to the couple insists Zac and Vanessa are NOT planning to tie the knot in Malibu. However, recent reports have claimed Hudgens is keen for Efron to walk her down the aisle.

ZAC EFRON has been clearing up a mess at his Los Angeles mansion after hi s swimming pool overflowed and flooded the house. The High School Musical star reportedly woke up to find his Hollywood h ome was ankle-deep in water after a night of heavy rain filled his pool t o bursting point.

According to the National Enquirer, Efron enlisted the help of a group of friends to help clear up the house and called his pool maintenance ope rative to help pump the water out of his home. A source tells the publication, "While Zac slept, his swimming pool had overflowed, his backyard became a lake and water seeping under exterior doors flooded the house. Zac called his pool guy, who arrived with a pump and started directing water away from the property. "(Efron) and some pals spent an entire day mopping out his house and sa ndbagging doors to block further flooding. Now Zac's working with landsca pers to design a better drainage set-up - and he just keeps thanking his lucky stars he was in town to stop further damage."

A funny thing about American Idol.  You get eliminated, presumably for butchering your last power ballad, which Simon and probably Kara, told you was the wrong choice from the jump.  It was painful the first time around, for you, the judges and the folks at home who chose not to text in their support.  The consensus is resounding; the performance was bad.  So why in god's name would we want to hear you do it all over again?

Alight, I'll cut Janelle Wheeler a little slack.  "What About Love" the second time around was a wee bit better and she certainly took the send off like a good sport.  Tyler Grady on the other hand.
