Zac Efron and his co-star Claire Danes spent time at the White House.Both actors were surprised by their visit to the White House where they were unable to meet Obama or his wife because both were gone.

Obama's kids, Sasha y Malia, were not at home either, which is too bad because they are huge Zac fans. They are not only fans of Zac, but also of the Jonas Brothers who did show up one time to surprise the girls. These two have the luck of having their idols show up at any time at the White House without notice. Because the Obama's were not at home, Zac and Claire Danes met with other members of Obama's administration and left behind their message: more art in schools.

The Hollywood sex-god, 22, liked the clothes so much from his latest film role, he decided to steal them.

Zac told us: “On the last day, I stole some of the stuff out of my trailer. I always steal some of my wardrobe. I never know what I’m going to need. You have to be quick.

Zac Efron made a trip to the White House recently to meet with administration officials to talk about giving additional funding for the arts in public schools, specifically for the Americans for the Arts foundation. Zac was joined by Claire Danes for the meeting.

Zac said about the visit I admire anyone who has devoted their lives to public service.While Claire joked: I’d never been to the White House before, Unlike L.A., they actually do real things here! We love hearing things like this about our favorite celebs!

His iPod went off during the interview playing a song from the band Interpol.

After his interview, Zac was kind enough to stop and sign some autographs for fans who were waiting in the rain.

As he walked away to get into his limo, he realized he had taken a fan’s pen with him.He threw it back whilst striking a Spiderman pose.

U.S. actor Zac Efron takes another step away from the world of high school musicals that made him famous with a part in "Me and Orson Welles," which also features British newcomer Christian McKay in the title role. In the movie, which hits British theatres on December 4, 22-year-old Efron plays a teenaged student who fortuitously stumbles into a minor role in the 1937 Mercury Theater production of "Julius Caesar" directed by the young Welles.

During one tumultuous week, he makes his Broadway debut, finds romance with an ambitious older woman and dares to cross the overbearing Welles in a coming-of-age tale. The film is Efron's second release since he graduated from the successful "High School Musical" franchise which made him a teen idol, after he appeared in "17 Again" which came out in April."I'm definitely sad to see the end of it (High School Musical), but I think it's all about progression and growing and trying new things," Efron told Reuters on the red carpet of the new movie's European premiere in London late on Wednesday.

Last week there were teenage girls going crazy for Robert Pattinson. This week, they turned out in force for Zac Efron. The High School Musical star was at the premiere of his new film in Leicester Square this evening, and spent time meeting his dedicated fans. Thousands descended to meet the 22-year-old who leapt to fame in the Disney franchise as he attended the premiere of Me and Orson Welles.Girls screamed and waved banners and posters after waiting for hours in the fierce winds and rain.But under the bright lights of the photographers, it was clear the Hollywood star was not wearing a bra.

The Hollywood star looked dapper in a smart black suit and thin tie on the red carpet outside the Vue West End cinema. Leading lady Claire Danes, 30, best known for Romeo And Juliet and Stardust, appeared to have played it safe in a long black evening gown with chiffon detail over a sweetheart neckline.

Other stars at the screening included Strictly Come Dancing celebrity Ali Bastian and her dancing partner Brian Fortuna. The pair, who have been rumoured to be having a romance, played up to the cameras, with Ali cosying up to the dancer and kissing him on the cheek. Zac's new movie is a move away from his comedy and musical roles. The drama was filmed on the Isle of Man, and fans flocked to the remote location to try and catch a glimpse of the star.

When New Moon hits theaters on Friday, you can bet that plenty of stars will be in line for the flick along with other members of the public. Since Twilight mania began taking hold last year, everyone from Zac Efron to Kelly Clarkson to Joe Jonas have raved about the franchise. Even President Obama admitted that he and daughter Malia have read the popular series. Some, like Kim Kardashian, have announced their fandom in less verbal ways: Recently, the reality star toted around a Twilight water bottle emblazoned with Taylor Lautner's face. Count her on Team Jacob! While en route to her L.A. gym, meanwhile, Ashley Tisdale obviously declared herself on Team Edward, given her water bottle with its visage of Robert Pattinson. Yet whether they're on Team Edward or Team Jacob or just Team Twilight here's what celebrated and self-declared Twi-Hards have said about the franchise At last year's MTV Movie Awards, Efron and girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens were competing against Pattinson and Stewart for best kiss, but the former High School Musical heartthrob wasn't dismayed about the competition, calling Twilight a "great film" and the Edward/Bella liplock, "a great kiss.

He was joined by fellow fans like George Lopez, Khloe Kardashian, and Heather Locklear, who's set to make her big TV comeback soon on the new Melrose Place.

Since I was only able to locate one picture of them together in the history of wire images [fig.1, below], I'm pretty sure they didn't actually bang, but, sigh, let's pretend.

Let me just say off the bat, I have never seen High School Musical 1, 2 or 8. I'm one of those people who will automatically dislike someone or something if it's overexposed (except you R.Pattz...heart ya). That's how I felt about Zac Efron initially. I just didn't get what the hype was about aside from his too perfectly placed hair.

Then I saw Zac do Saturday Night Live, which he rocked, and also saw his schtick on Entourage. That's what made me start to realize he wasn't another teenybopper douche bag and actually had a sense of humor. Hence, when I shamelessly became a Zefron fan.
