Last week there were teenage girls going crazy for Robert Pattinson. This week, they turned out in force for Zac Efron. The High School Musical star was at the premiere of his new film in Leicester Square this evening, and spent time meeting his dedicated fans. Thousands descended to meet the 22-year-old who leapt to fame in the Disney franchise as he attended the premiere of Me and Orson Welles.Girls screamed and waved banners and posters after waiting for hours in the fierce winds and rain.But under the bright lights of the photographers, it was clear the Hollywood star was not wearing a bra.

The Hollywood star looked dapper in a smart black suit and thin tie on the red carpet outside the Vue West End cinema. Leading lady Claire Danes, 30, best known for Romeo And Juliet and Stardust, appeared to have played it safe in a long black evening gown with chiffon detail over a sweetheart neckline.

Other stars at the screening included Strictly Come Dancing celebrity Ali Bastian and her dancing partner Brian Fortuna. The pair, who have been rumoured to be having a romance, played up to the cameras, with Ali cosying up to the dancer and kissing him on the cheek. Zac's new movie is a move away from his comedy and musical roles. The drama was filmed on the Isle of Man, and fans flocked to the remote location to try and catch a glimpse of the star.

He revealed that wherever he goes, his fans will find him. Before the premiere he revealed that he had been excited about filming upcoming movie Me and Orson Welles on the Isle of Man because it was such a remote destination. '[I liked] the idea of going to a fairly secluded place and to fly away for a couple of weeks... I was so excited to leave all the attention behind,' he said. '[But when we were there], we had a small crowd of young girls and boys hooraying us as we would drive up to set.'

He added: 'It's incredibly endearing and cool that they would do that kind of thing for you. I'm very grateful... To be honest, I think our crew and the rest of the cast got a big kick out of it.' Jazz musician Jools Holland and Ashley Taylor Dawson, the actor who plays Darren in Hollyoaks, were also on the red carpet.
